Vishal Agarwala,a upcoming filmmaker,hailing from north-east region of India, is one of the trail-blazers,belonging to the new generation of creative artistes,who are stepping into Big Bad Bollywood. Movies are magic,seductive...an escape into a world where men are larger than life,women- incarnations of Aphrodite,good;despite all strife always;always triumphs over evil - that is the stuff celluloid dreams are made of and Vishal always knew movies were his calling-that he wanted to help craft those dreams.

Vishal was doing his graduation in Guwahati from K C Das Commerce college.He always had an inclination towards audio-visual art and craft.Before mumbai beckoned him,he assisted renowed film director Bani Das in a serial and such was his talent and dedication that after 2 days of shooting Bani Das asked him to assist him in his movie and that was just a sign for the bigger things to come.That was one moment which made him go on to pursue his dream full throttle. After working as an Assistant Director in films like Maya, Kadambari, Adhinayak, and a host of telefilms, he took a hard decision to leave the luxuries of home to find a footing in the land of celluloid dreams- Mumbai. Mumbai-the city of dreams was a lesson in humilty.The first project that Vishal landed in Mumbai was as an Asst in a documentary being made on a shoe string budget for DD News. Bumbaiyya was a wholesome experience as he was doing everything from carrying the camera, keeping accounts, scheduling the shoot, as well as giving creative inputs.He now he says that all the scary stuff that he had heard about Mumbai was all gibberish.The next major project had him dealing with reality TV for the first time, as an Asstt Reality Producer in Indian Idol 3.

Mumbai was not a cake-walk and there were days when the going was tough and it on one of those days that Lady Destiny paid him a visit,he got a call that Mohit Suri wanted to meet him and he was looking to form his team. Two weeks after the interview, he got the job.He joined the film when the story was being conceptulised, and left on its release after a good 14 months of gruelling but immensely satisfying work . While he was on a vacation; home in Guwahati after Raaz- the mystery continues released, this February, he got a call from Mukesh Bhatt, the producer,to help him with post – production of their next film Jashnn- the music within. He has become almost their in-house guy now having worked on Jashnn as Post Production Incharge.He is also workin on Mohit Suri’s next which should go on floors by November.

Born to Sh. Bhola Ram Agarwala, a tax consultant, Vishal swears by the support he has been receiving from his family through out his journey.He credits his family,blessings of near and dear ones and God's grace For being blessed enough to get paid for doing what he enjoys the most.Despite being a Bombay Boy now,home is where the heart is;he misses Peetha with the yummy nariyal filling.

In a few years down the line he wants a shift from the end titles to front credits - every Asst. director's dream. In true bollywood ishtyle,he had a dream-that Mahesh Bhatt was patting him on his back and today he has lived one of his dreams.Having worked as an Assistant Director to Mohit Suri in film Raaz- the mystery continues,Vishal Agarwala, a son of the banks of Brahmaputra has come a long way.Here's wishing him more of the movie madness and a lifetime of lights,camera and action!!
